Local Rebates Extend Incentives for Upgrading to Energy Efficient Home Appliances

PLANO, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#acrepair–Homeowners that upgraded to select energy-efficient home improvements
before December 31, 2016 are eligible for a tax credit of up to $500
when filing their 2016 taxes. This credit, part of the American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act, is no longer available for purchases made this
year, but a variety of rebates and incentives are still being offered by
local utilities and energy providers on energy-efficient upgrades like
furnaces, air conditioners, insulation and water heaters.

“Electric and gas providers are continuing their efforts to help
homeowners conserve energy and save money by offering valuable rebates
and incentives, even as the federal tax credit has expired,” said Dave
Moody, Vice President, Marketing for Service
Experts Heating & Air Conditioning
. “Upgrading your heating and
A/C to a newer, more efficient system can save up to 50% on energy
bills, while the optimal level of attic insulation can save up to 20% on
utility bills. Not only does this directly impact the bottom line for
homeowners, but it also provides a significant environmental benefit.”

Research shows that if one in 10 households upgraded to ENERGY
STAR®-rated heating and cooling equipment, it would prevent 13 billion
pounds of annual greenhouse gas emissions. To help consumers take
advantage of these benefits and the rebates being offered in local
markets served by their locations in 29 U.S. states, Service Experts is
offering savings of more than $1,000 through June 9 on home comfort
systems. Their teams of NATE-certified technicians provide free in-home
comfort analysis and estimates, tune-ups and smart technology like wi-fi
thermostats that can help reduce energy consumption in the home.
