AARP Sponsors the Hispanic Women Summit October 28th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The rise of Latina entrepreneurs will be presented by the Hispanic Women
of Distinction™ honorees over the past 14 years in partnership with Latin
Business Today, an online publication dedicated to driving
growth and success of Hispanic businesses, mentoring Latino
entrepreneurs through thought leadership and productivity. Since 2013,
one in every 10 women owned businesses in the United States is a
Hispanic woman company.
The inaugural Hispanic Women Summit is sponsored by AARP and will
feature a unique presentation designed for Hispanic women at the event.

Florida, and past honoree as a
Hispanic Woman of Distinction. “By bringing Life
Reimagined to the Summit, AARP wants to emphasize that there are no

finding purpose in work and life.”
The kick-off event will include guest speakers, small business resource
partners, Latina exhibitors and corporate executives. Networking
opportunities with prolific Latina executives will make for an exciting
and inspiring evening. Refreshments will be served at the Art Institute
of Fort Lauderdale. The school’s Hispanic Fashion designers will also be
showcased as well as Latin entertainment. Raffles will benefit Mujeres
Latinas Impulsando Mujeres Latinas, a non-profit
organization assisting newly arriving families to access services,
educational needs, health programs and government agencies.
Special guest speaker is Kiki Melendez, from the hit movie “Journey of a
Female Comic” and Showtime’s “Hot Tamales Lives.” Her documentary film
chronicles the ups and downs of a Hollywood actress/comedian as she
struggles to make it in Tinsel Town. Her story will truly provide
insight to those in attendance. “This is a great networking event for
all to attend. Women can meet other powerful businesswomen and men, how
could you resist a room full of powerful and beautiful ladies!” said
Kiki Melendez. “I think we have really made great strides in business
and this is our chance to celebrate and support each other.”
