The Cutest Adoptable Pets in the Ugliest of Holiday Sweaters at
Michelson Found Animals Adopt & Shop
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#adoptnshop–December 16 is National Ugly Sweater Day, to celebrate Michelson
Found Animals Adopt & Shop will be hosting an ugly Christmas
sweater holiday pet strut ‘telethon’ at their Culver City retail and
adoption center from 3p-6p ET/12p-3p PT on Friday, December 16. This
cheeky and spirited event is meant to generate attention for the many
cats and dogs in need of loving homes and to showcase the cheer that
adoptable pets can add to one’s family. The three-hour Facebook live
stream will include YouTube and animal community Influencers, giveaways
and adorable adoptable cats and dogs.
“We love that people can watch a live feed of amazing adoptable pets in
their ugly Christmas sweaters. We enjoy educating on pet adoption in fun
and engaging ways in the hopes that we find forever homes for pets in
need,” said Aimee Gilbreath, executive director, Michelson
Found Animals Foundation. “Each and every one of the animals at
Adopt & Shop are as special and unique as the sweater they’re donning,
and we’re just hoping others get to see that as well.”

The ugly sweater event will feature pets that are currently available
for adoption, and that have already been spay/neutered and microchipped.
Participating adoptables will be introduced by a mix of staffers,
volunteers and leading social influencers – each greeting fans and
sharing the pet’s name and story with the hope of getting these animals
get adopted or its fee sponsored from donors across the country.
Michelson Found Animals Adopt & Shop is the pet store with purpose. The
Facebook Live event is meant to raise awareness for pet adoption and to
help serve the many ways in which the organization is helping to move LA
to being a no-kill city.
Featured pets will be dressed in their holiday best, or worst, courtesy
of Rubie’s
Costume Company, the world’s largest designer, manufacturer and
distributor of Halloween costumes and accessories.
In addition to the Ugly Sweater Adoption Telethon, the complete Home
for the Holidays Winter campaign is comprised of several retail &
adoption opportunities for pet lovers to give back, including: a Secret
Santa-style program that allows anonymous donors the opportunity to pay
it forward by sponsoring a pet’s adoption fee, a Giving Tree in-store
display featuring donor names, an all-new holiday gift card program (the
gift that also gives to pets), holiday gift wrapping (12/19-12/24 with a
$25 minimum purchase), participation in adoptions events as the Hollywood
Christmas Parade (made possible by DogVacay) and partnership with The
Sofa Company as well as the ugly sweater holiday pet strut telethon.
