After Hurricane Harvey, the Hispanic Community Rises to Face Construction Challenges in Houston

At least 68% of the Hispanic working class in Houston works in
construction, accounting for heavy building activity integral to the
reconstruction after the hurricane inflicted $125 billion in damages and
unaccountable disruption in human activity.

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#constructionbusiness–The Hispanic working class, deeply integrated within the construction
industry of Texas, have stepped up to take definitive charge of
rebuilding the city of Houston in the aftermath of Harvey’s devastating
damages. In the Houston Metro Area, there have been consistent efforts
by the Hispanic working class towards restoring much of the area’s
infrastructure. In the endeavor of rebuilding Houston, a lot of
organizations have formed a union to support the initiative taken by
Hispanics.

One such endeavor in this direction is Expo Contratista, scheduled to be
hosted on October 14th, 2018, at the Civic Arena. Expecting
more than 10,000 medium and small contractors, construction workers and
corporations, the event is organized and created by 11/11 Media, a Hispanic
marketing firm
and will cater to a multitude of audiences. The Expo
will aim to address the high demand and vulnerability of construction
processes in Texas, by stimulating connections between suppliers,
brands, and professionals.

Presently, the consumers within hurricane-affected areas are facing
serious trouble in making sure that their demands are met, and that they
are catered to with substantial and viable services in construction. Expo
Contratista
will provide an opportunity for consumers and vendors to
establish mutual grounds for proceeding construction while keeping
politics at bay.

Expo Contratista will be a one-day event where, for the first time in
history, diverse cultures and peoples of Houston will have a first-hand
opportunity to address their concerns in front of competent and
qualified individuals who are ready to provide their services. Focusing
attention away from secondary issues, this culturally oriented expo will
aim to solve the problems of the city and its people.

Expo Contratista is going to be an outdoor Hispanic-oriented Construction
Expo
which will be held with the purpose of helping businesses
activate their brands to more than ten thousand Houstonians. The expo
will include everyone from the construction field and will be free for
anyone who wants admission to the event. This will help people interact
with over forty sponsors showcasing their equipment, machinery, and
products.

The much-needed event is being organized as an innovative way to tackle
the difficulties Houstonians faced in finding contractors and
subcontractors after Hurricane Harvey. The purpose which the expo will
achieve is going to be to satiate the need of brands to connect with the
Hispanic contractors, companies, and market culturally with concrete
return on investment, remarkable business expansion, and enhanced
corporate relations, fulfilling the requirement of the construction
industry to have a get-together.

thousand people and more than forty brands will be part of this

it anyway.”
