Allianz Life Community Impact Tops $1.9 Million and Employees Volunteer 15,500 Hours for Local Nonprofits
2016 Giving and Volunteerism Report Highlights Company’s Annual
Community Contributions
MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz
Life®) announced in its annual Giving
and Volunteerism Report that nearly 1,500 employees volunteered
15,500 hours, an increase of 2,500 hours compared to 2014. Together with
corporate grants, vendor contributions and employee donations, the
company impact totaled $1.9 million to make a difference in the lives of
others.
Highlights of the company’s contributions include:

Supporting financial literacy and senior services through $550,000 in
corporate grants to 33 Twin-Cities nonprofit organizations. -
Raising more than $195,000 for the Alzheimer’s
Association MN-ND Helpline through the Allianz Driving to Donate
Golf Tournament. -
Collecting 24,090 pounds of food, 22,681 pounds of clothes, 3,684 toys
(including 74 bicycles) and more than $100,000 in cash donations via
the company’s year-round Spirit of Giving event—benefiting PRISM
(People Responding In Social Ministry), Arc
Greater Twin Cities, Toys
for Tots and Second
Harvest Heartland.

Allianz Life’s 2016 Giving and Volunteerism Report is available
on the company’s
website and describes the corporate- and employee-driven giving and
community programs that Allianz Life supports. Allianz Life encourages
employees to get involved in volunteer activities—through hands-on work,
fundraising walks or runs, and other activities. When groups of five or
more volunteer together, Allianz Life backs their commitment with
financial support. In 2015, 1,478 employees took advantage of this
program and nearly $150,000 was donated to their chosen charities.
Other highlights from 2015 include:

Reaching more than 6,500 students through Junior
Achievement and BestPrep
to advance youth financial literacy, as well as donating $100,000 to
each organization. -
Awarding 10 post-secondary scholarships through the Allianz Legacy
Scholarship Program which memorializes employees who have passed away.
