Insurer Recognized for Employee Programs Supporting Career and Life
Balance

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–For the second consecutive year, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North
America (Allianz
Life®
) has earned a spot on the Working
Mother 100 Best Companies
list, ranking number 87. The annual award
recognizes Allianz Life for its commitment to supporting female
employees with opportunities for professional development while
maintaining a balanced life. Allianz Life is a leader in insured
retirement solutions and employs approximately 1,700 people in the Twin
Cities metro area.

“Allianz Life provides leadership and professional development
opportunities that all of our employees can utilize throughout their
careers,” said Allianz Life President and CEO Walter White. “Women make
up half of my direct leadership team, and they are particularly attuned
to the challenges of raising children while having a successful career.
We’re proud to maintain an array of programs and policies that can
create balance with our employees’ work and personal life outside our
doors.”

Work–Life Balance an Allianz Life Priority

Allianz Life offers programs that recognize the interdependent
relationship among social well-being, physical health and financial
fitness. Having an emphasis on well-being is particularly helpful to the
mothers who work at Allianz Life. Employees get support in many ways –
an on-site child care center, parenting courses, flexible work
arrangements, an annual family-focused company picnic and paid volunteer
time. The company also has a women’s employee resource group that helps
participants enhance professional skills as women in the workforce.

Supporting the physical health of its employees, Allianz Life provides a
wellness program that includes an on-site fitness center and easy access
to preventive care such as smoking cessation, flu shots and on-site
mammograms. The company’s employees can enjoy healthy food choices in
the cafeterias and an at-work meditation program for reducing stress.
There is also access to financial advisors, tools and guidance to create
a healthy financial life.

“We want our employees to achieve their life goals, and as an employer
we work to consistently innovate with programs that help them do that,”
said Suzanne Dowd Zeller, chief human resources officer. “In support of
working mothers’ career enhancement, we have a women’s employee resource
group that draws more than 500 members and a Women’s Leadership Exchange
that develops current and future leaders.”
