AMC Theatres’® Sensory Friendly Films Program Growing with Its Guests

AMC adding additional days and incorporating more mature titles
through its relaxed movie-watching environment program

LEAWOOD, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Every month for the last eight years, thousands of families and
individuals with special needs have come to AMC Theatres (NYSE: AMC) to
experience the magic of a movie on the big screen through AMC’s Sensory
Friendly Films program. Until recently, the titles offered were
primarily geared toward children. But now, guests of all ages can join
in the fun as AMC has expanded its Sensory Friendly Films title
selection to accommodate a more mature movie-going audience and offer
even more opportunities to catch a flick every month.

AMC continues to partner with The Autism Society to present Sensory
Friendly Films, where the lights are turned up, the sound down, and the
theatre not only allows, but encourages guests to get up, dance, walk,
shout or sing. The response has been phenomenal, with hundreds of
thousands of guests attending Sensory Friendly Films screenings. As the
program enters its ninth year, guests who have grown up going to Sensory
Friendly Films are now looking for a little more action and intrigue.

In addition to its traditional slate of family-friendly Sensory Friendly
Films titles, such as THE GOOD DINOSAUR and NORM OF THE NORTH, AMC is
adding more adult-oriented showtimes to its slate. This means that
guests can now enjoy films such as THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART
2, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and RIDE ALONG 2 in a comfortable and
welcoming environment.

“Guests who’ve grown up attending Sensory Friendly Films since the
program’s inception are now in their teens and 20s, with much broader
taste in movies,” said Elizabeth Frank, executive vice president, Chief
Content & Programming Officer, AMC. “We’re thrilled to expand the
program to ensure our older guests who feel most comfortable in a
relaxed, welcoming environment are excited about enjoying a night out at
the movie theatre.”

To accommodate the additional titles, AMC is adding another day to its
Sensory Friendly Films schedule. Guests interested in movies that appeal
primarily to a younger demographic will continue to find those titles on
the second and fourth Saturday of every month, beginning at 10 a.m.,
while movies that appealing to an older audience will play on the second
and fourth Tuesday of every month, beginning at 7 p.m.
