Amerigroup Iowa and McFarland Clinic Announce Agreement to Serve Amerigroup Medicaid Members
DES MOINES, Iowa–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Amerigroup Iowa, which will serve the Medicaid population through the
State’s IA Health Link program, announced that it has signed an
agreement with McFarland Clinic, central Iowa’s largest physician-owned
multi-specialty clinic. This agreement gives Amerigroup members access
to McFarland Clinic’s doctors, specialists, laboratories and facilities
across central Iowa.
The McFarland Clinic network of health care providers serves residents
in 12 Iowa communities with additional communities served by physician
outreach clinics. More than one million patient visits are made at
McFarland Clinic annually, offered by more than 250 health care
providers and 1,000 staff members in 35 medical specialties.

The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) estimates 560,000 Iowans are
eligible for managed care services. As part of Iowa’s new Medicaid
managed care program, Amerigroup will serve members in IA Health Link
and Iowa Health and Wellness Plan. Amerigroup will also serve the
children enrolled in the State’s Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (hawk-i)
program. Additionally, Amerigroup will provide services for individuals
qualifying for Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) funded substance
abuse services; Long Term Services and Supports for seniors and persons
with disabilities; and individuals with intellectual or developmental
disabilities.
