Audible’s Original Audio Series Breasts Unbound Wins the 2017 Gracie Award for Original Online Programming – Standalone Audio

The Fascinating Audio Documentary, Hosted by Journalist Florence
Williams, is Available Exclusively on Audible Channels

NEWARK, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation today announced that
Audible’s original audio series Breasts Unbound will receive a
Gracie Award in the category of Original Online Programming – Standalone
Audio. The Gracie Award recognizes exemplary programming created by,
for, and about women in all areas of media. This year’s Awards will be
presented at the 42nd annual Gracie Awards Gala on June 6 at
the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

“It is truly rewarding to be receiving a Gracie Award on a topic that
spans culture, anthropology and medicine,” said Williams. “As a
science journalist, it was an illuminating experience to feature
characters who are so rich and varied – from cancer researchers to a
Texas grandmother who agreed to be a guinea pig for the first implants.
The Audible platform has opened up a new world for me; it helped me turn
my vision into an audio program, and I learned how to write for sound.
It was a privilege and it was also fun.”

“We are honored to be recognized by AWMF with the prestigious Gracie
Award, and equally proud to be on the forefront of storytelling through
the power of voice,” said Audible Chief Content Officer Andy Gaies. “Breasts
Unbound
gracefully blends science and personal anecdotes to
challenge the choices we make every day, and unearth some groundbreaking
facts.”

Launched on Audible Channels earlier this year, the eight-part series Breasts
Unbound
tackles myths and uncovers new facts on all things
breasts-related. Interview subjects include The Naked Ape author
Desmond Morris; an eight-year-old girl confronting hormonal
imbalances; and Chelsea Handler, who candidly discusses her own highly
publicized breasts. Additional episodes reveal why there is an increase
in larger breasts in men and women today, and how trans women are
learning to lactate. More information can be found here: http://www.audible.com/mt/breastsunbound.

Introduced earlier this year, Audible Channels gives high-quality
short-form audio content a dedicated home. Audible Channels is free with
an Audible membership and to Amazon Prime members, and also available to
purchase as a standalone offering for $4.95 a month. Additional new
original series and shows are announced and added regularly. For more
