Books-A-Million Kicks Off Its 3rd Annual Holiday Book & Toy Drive
Books-A-Million has partnered with local charities this holiday
season to provide books and toys for children in need
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Books-A-Million is supporting local charities through a Holiday Book and
Toy Drive from November 15 to December 19. During this campaign,
customers are encouraged to choose any children’s book or toy and donate
to the chosen local charity.
The theme for this year’s Holiday Book and Toy Drive is “Grow Your Heart
3 Sizes,” which many will recognize as a reference to Dr. Seuss’s How
the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Seuss Estate and Random House have
provided artwork from the classic Christmas story to help bring
awareness to this year’s promotion.
“A big part of the holiday season is giving back to the community,
that’s why we put an emphasis on partnering with local charities,” said
Scott Kappler, Vice President of Marketing at Books-A-Million. “This is
a chance for our customers and associates to come together as the BAM
Brigade and give some children a holiday to remember.”
If a customer wants to participate, but isn’t certain what they want to
donate, they can choose from one of the many items on the Book & Toy
Drive donation box near the store checkout. Items that customers can
consider donating this holiday season include:
Books: Give the gift of a children’s classic with Dr. Seuss’s What
Pet Should I Get, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Green Eggs
and Ham. Popular kids’ books sure to thrill include Magnus Chase:
The Sword of Summer, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, or a book from the Harry
Potter series.
Toys: Open a world of imagination with the best Toys, Games and Puzzles
for children of all ages and interests. Gifts that are sure to delight
include offerings from Star Wars, Paw Patrol, Lego, Melissa
and Doug, Shopkins and Peppa Pig.
Tech: Expand their mind with educational learning tools from LeapFrog
and Brain Quest or let a storybook come to life with the best tablet for
families with NOOK HD+ and ear buds from Skullcandy.
The Holiday Book and Toy Drive, held at all BAM locations, has passed
its goal of $1 million in each of the previous years.
