Burke & Herbert Bank “Scores for Kids” Program Now Underway

Bank Names Alexandria’s Alice’s Kids as Donation Recipient

ALEXANDRIA, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#gocaps–With the new NHL season just underway, Burke & Herbert Bank is again
proud to sponsor “Burke & Herbert Bank Scores for Kids.” Now in its
second year, this program will be promoted on CSN Mid-Atlantic
throughout the hockey season and will help local children in need.

For every goal scored by the Washington Capitals during the 2016-17
season, Burke & Herbert Bank will donate $100 to Alexandria-based
Alice’s Kids, a non-profit organization that provides financial
assistance to children by paying for smaller ticket but urgently needed
items that matter to a kid’s success and self-esteem, such as clothing,
shoes, school supplies, class trip fees, instrument rentals, sports
uniforms and equipment, and more. Alice’s Kids learns about children who
have an immediate need for some short-term financial assistance through
school staff, social workers, churches, and other organizations. Help is
provided to children anonymously through the referral source.

thrilled that Alice’s Kids was selected as this year’s donation
recipient,” said Ron Fitzsimmons, President and Executive Director of
Alice’s Kids. “I most definitely will be rooting for the Caps and hoping

The Bank started “Burke & Herbert Bank Scores for Kids” in 2015 in
partnership with CSN Mid-Atlantic, leveraging the excitement of the
hockey season and the enthusiasm of television announcers Joe Beninati
and Craig Laughlin to help thousands of area children and their families
while building awareness of Burke & Herbert Bank. Last season, the
program resulted in a $25,200 donation to another childrens’ charity,
MVK Inc.
