“Our mission is to provide California students with an excellent
education grounded in high academic standards, which will help them
achieve their full academic potential,” said April Warren, head of
school for California Virtual Academies. “Our teachers are dedicated to
partnering with families and helping students succeed.”
Each student is supported by a California-credentialed teacher who
monitors student progress while providing insight and instruction.
Teachers communicate with students via phone, email and the online
classroom technology in order to provide an individualized approach that
helps prepare students for career or college success.
The rigorous curriculum includes core subjects, as well as art, music
and world languages. An Advanced Learning Program is available for
younger students, and high schoolers may prepare for college with honors
and Advanced Placement® courses. Additionally, students have
the opportunity to take concurrent enrollment courses to earn college
credit while still in high school; more than 150 students were enrolled
in over 200 concurrent enrollment courses during the 2016-17 school year.
Moreover, field trips, social events and clubs connect CAVA students and
families to the school community.
CAVA will host several online and in-person informational events to help
parents learn more about the program. For a list of events and more
