Care Indeed, an Industry Leader in Home Care Services, Offers Free Mental Health First Aid Training to Its Employees

MENLO PARK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Care Indeed has made a commitment to providing the highest quality care
to seniors in the Bay Area by implementing employee training programs
that exceed the state’s minimum requirements.

Since 2014 Care Indeed has partnered with the County of San Mateo Health
System to provide free Mental Health First Aid Course to its employees.
The training is being offered in the form of an interactive 8-hour
course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use
disorders. It introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs
of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and
overviews common treatments.

“If you know how to give initial help to a person showing symptoms of
mental illness or in a mental health crisis until appropriate
professional or other help arrives, you can help save lives and build
stronger communities. My goal is to have all Care Indeed employees
become certified in Mental Health First Aid.” – Dee Bustos, Care
Indeed’s CEO.

One in four people have a mental illness yet less than half are getting
the help they need—mainly because they are afraid others will judge
them. Care Indeed, in cooperation with the County of San Mateo Health
System, works hard to change that by offering this valuable training to
its employees.
