Cinemark’s Playa Vista Theatre Hosts “Patriots Day” Screening and Live Q&A Broadcast with Mark Wahlberg and Boston’s Heroes

PLANO, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CinemarkCinemark
Holdings, Inc.
(NYSE: CNK), a leader in the motion picture
exhibition industry announced that its Cinemark Playa Vista and XD
Theatre will host an advance screening of Lionsgate and CBS Films’ new
film, Patriots Day, followed by an exclusive, live Q&A satellite
broadcast featuring the film’s stars and Boston’s real-life heroes on
Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 6 p.m. PST. Cinemark’s leading-edge
technology enables Lionsgate to share real-time dialog from the actors
and brave men and women of the Boston-area police force with movie fans
not only in Los Angeles but across the U.S.

Boston native and Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg will be joined by
his costars Jimmy Yang and Khandi Alexander as well as the film’s
Director Peter Berg for this special live broadcast event. In addition,
the real-life heroes who inspired the movie including former Boston
Police Commissioner Ed Davis, FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers and
Watertown Police Sargent Jeff Pugliese will be participating in the Q&A.

“Cinemark is excited to partner with Lionsgate to bring our guests the
opportunity to see and hear from Patriots Day actors and heroes,”
states James Meredith, Cinemark’s SVP, Head of Marketing and
Communications. “Cinemark’s Playa Vista theatre was designed for these
types of events and we are thrilled to be able to host, produce and
broadcast this Patriots Day live event to our theatres across the
nation.”

An account of the Boston Marathon bombing, Patriots Day is the
powerful story of a community’s courage in the face of adversity. Police
Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors,
first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt
down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories
of Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner
Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (J.K. Simmons) and
nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan), this visceral and unflinching
chronicle captures the suspense of one of the most sophisticated
manhunts in law enforcement history and the strength of the people of
Boston. The movie will be released on Friday, January 13 with
early shows on Thursday, January 12.

Cinemark’s January 11 screening of Patriots Day starts at 6 p.m.
PST/9 p.m. EST. Immediately following the screening, the Q&A will
broadcast live to 240 Cinemark locations. Tickets can be purchased at www.cinemark.com.
