El “Campeon de los Hispanos” Celebrates its Twenty-fourth Annual
Mujeres Destacadas Luncheon

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/aarp?src=hash" target="_blank"gt;#aarplt;/agt;–El Diario will recognize the achievements of 21 recipients at the
Annual Mujeres Destacadas luncheon. This event will take place at
The Harvard Club New York and the honorees will be featured in a special
supplement, which will be available in the Sunday edition of El Diario,
on April 28, 2019.

Twenty-Four years ago, El Diario created the Mujeres Destacadas
Luncheon, a recognition that celebrates the achievements of Latino Women
in the tri state area and their contribution to our community. Over 600
women have been recognized by El Diario from the world of
medicine, business, government, non-profit and entertainment. This
program has successfully created a group of role models for the new
generations to look up to and realize that everything is possible with
dedication and hard work.

Our honorees come from different backgrounds and industries. Among this
year’s recipients there are the Ecuadrorian Consulate of New York, Linda
Machuca, Vice-President of Multicultural Leadership AARP, Yvette Peña,
U.S. Managing Director of Carolina Herrera, Fabiola Velarde, Celebrity
Make-up Artist, Jamie Harper, Editor in Chief of Parents Latina and Ser
Padres, Grace Bastidas and Pediatric Critical Care Specialist at
Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Denise Nunez.
