Eros International Films Win over 60 Awards at 2015 Film Awards
LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Eros International Plc (NYSE:EROS) (“Eros”), a leading global company in
the Indian film entertainment industry, announced today the Company’s
notable success at an array of 2015 Indian Film Award Ceremonies.
Following recent annual award ceremonies such as Screen, Filmfare, Sony
Guild and Stardust Awards, Eros’ films collected 18 awards for its
releases at the Zee Cine Awards held in Mumbai, India on February 21,
2016. Recognized films included titles such as Bajirao Mastani,
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Badlapur and Bengali hit Bela Seshe.
With an unparalleled number of critically and commercially successful
films this year, Eros International not only dominated the box office
charts with the highest number of top-grossing films of 2015 but has
also taken the awards season by storm, receiving over 60 awards for
films in various categories at all prestigious award platforms. The
Studio itself, was also recognised as Studio of the Year and collected
the Excellence in International Distribution Award at the ETC Bollywood
Business Awards 2015.
Additional 2015 award highlights include the Company’s Christmas
blockbuster Bajirao Mastani, which won over 30 awards including
‘Best Actor’ (Ranveer Singh at the Screen, Filmfare, Sony Guild and Zee
Cine Awards) and ‘Best Supporting Actor’ (Priyanka Chopra at the Screen
and Filmfare Awards). Bajrangi Bhaihaan, 2015’s highest grossing
Hindi film in India, won over 10 awards, including ‘Best Film’ (Screen,
Stardust, Sony Guild and Zee Cine Awards), and ‘Best Director’ (Kabir
Khan at the Screen and Stardust Awards).
