Former DOJ White Collar Prosecutor Sarah M. Hall Joins Thompson Hine in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Thompson
Hine LLP
is pleased to announce that Sarah M. Hall has joined the
firm’s White
Collar Criminal Practice, Internal Investigations & Government
Enforcement group
in Washington, D.C. as senior counsel.

Hall brings to the firm seven years of experience with the U.S.
Department of Justice, where she was a federal white collar prosecutor
in the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section. As a federal prosecutor, Hall
prosecuted complex financial crimes on Wall Street as part of the Fraud
Section’s Securities and Financial Fraud Unit. She also has significant
experience prosecuting criminal health care fraud, money laundering and
kickback offenses, and was a member of the nationwide Medicare Fraud
Strike Force. With experience in every phase of federal criminal cases,
including investigations and jury trials, Hall has obtained convictions
nationwide.

Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Hall spent more than eight
years at international law firms in Washington, D.C., where her practice
focused on representing corporate and individual clients in federal
white collar criminal matters, internal investigations and complex
financial fraud-related civil litigation. In addition, prior to her
career as a lawyer, Hall worked as a congressional staffer in the
offices of U.S. Senator Bob Graham of Florida and U.S. Representative
Jim Moran of Virginia.

Hall is a welcome addition to the firm’s white collar crime practice
group. She will represent businesses and individuals in government
investigations of alleged violations of the securities, anti-fraud,
health care and procurement laws. Her practice will encompass the
representation of financial institutions, public companies and
individuals before the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange
Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Federal Reserve, CME
Group and other government and self-regulatory entities.

“I was impressed by the strength of Thompson Hine’s white collar
practice as well as the firm’s collaborative nature and focus on
innovation and maximizing value for clients,” said Hall of her move to
Thompson Hine. “I am excited to be part of a growing office and to join
the firm’s team of talented litigators.”

Hall is the most recent lawyer to join the Washington office. Last
month, energy lawyer Marvin
Griff
joined the firm from Husch Blackwell, and earlier this year,
the office welcomed a Government Contracts practice from Cooley LLP led
by Tom
Mason
and including Francis
E. “Chip” Purcell, Jr.
and Ray
McCann
. Also this year, Mark
Lunn
joined the firm’s International Trade practice group from
Dentons LLP.

“Sarah’s significant first-chair trial experience in high-profile cases
further bolsters our already extensive expertise in white collar
criminal matters,” said David
A. Wilson
, partner-in-charge of the Washington, D.C. office. “She
will be a tremendous asset for our clients, and we are delighted to
welcome her to the firm.”
