HealthPicket Service to Help Americans ‘Age in Place’

Virtual care services help prolong independent living

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Health IT executive Michael
J. Minton
announced the launch of HealthPicket,
a unique new option for patient-centered home-based care.

HealthPicket
is dedicated to helping Americans ‘age
in place’
with dignity,” said Minton, company founder and CEO.

“Our virtual
professional care services
use state-of-the-art technology and
clinical experts to help prolong independent living and
are an affordable alternative to current options.”

Nearly 90 percent of people over age 65 want to stay in their home as
long as possible, according to the AARP
Public Policy Institute
; 80 percent believe they will always live in
their current residence. However, chronic diseases can escalate quickly,
making independent living difficult and stressing adult children who may
be too far away to effectively monitor their parents’ health status.

“Our virtual professional care services protect seniors’ ability to live
independently and families’ right to peace of mind,” explained Minton.

Studies show continuous remote monitoring of those with chronic medical
issues can facilitate more timely and appropriate interventions that
reduce hospital admissions by 20 percent or more, total bed days by 25
percent or more.

“We provide early warning of changes in health status and informed
clinically validated alerts. Together these can help prevent unnecessary
medical procedures. In short, we intend to help reduce spiraling
healthcare costs, one subscriber at a time.”

Service is expected to begin Q1 2016. Prospective subscribers may contact
HealthPicket to reserve a spot now.

HealthPicket also launched its Web
