Keaton Raphael Memorial to Gift $133,500+ to UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center for Pediatric Cancer Research

WHAT:

KRM will present a check to UC Davis for cancer research in the
amount of $133,644.38. Over the past decade, KRM has raised almost
$1.5 million locally for UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center
through head shaving events and a partnership with St. Baldrick’s,
making KRM the single largest donor to the Center for pediatric
cancer research. Shane’s End-of-Therapy celebration will follow,
from which he and his family will transition back to “normal”
living after many months in treatment.

Shane and many others like him who, with their families, must face
the unspeakable difficulties and uncertainty of fighting cancer.
This brave little boy represents one very touching reason why,
among too many other anxious children and their families, KRM
raises funds each year with St. Baldrick’s to support local
research through UC Davis. Additionally, KRM provides services to
an average of 500 children and families each year, offering “Hope,
Strength and Healing” to these children and their families in the
form of medical, emotional, material and even financial support.
More than 1,500 California children are diagnosed with cancer each
year.
