Legacy Food Storage Introduces Survival Seed Kits for Long-Term or Emergency Use

Kits include thousands of non-GMO seeds for vegetables, fruits and
herbs

SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Legacy Food Storage, a manufacturer of good-tasting, high-quality
gourmet meals and other items for food storage and emergency use, today
announced the release of six survival seed kits. Each kit includes
thousands of seeds for vegetables, fruits or herbs, with the entire
collection available in the Ultimate Seeds Kit. Each kit includes a
guide on planting, harvesting and seed collecting, making it easy for
consumers to produce various food items for both long-term storage and
use during emergency situations such as natural disasters or job loss.

Legacy Survival Seeds are open-pollinated, non-GMO heirloom seeds
specifically prepared for long-term storage. Legacy Survival Seeds will
maintain excellent germination rates for a minimum of five years, and
good germination rates for several years after that, even longer if the
seeds are stored in a freezer.

“Adding survival seeds to your food storage is an added layer of
protection in your emergency preparations,” said Phil Cox, CEO of Legacy
Food Storage. “Planting a garden seed vault will produce vegetables that
have seeds to harvest and replant for as long as the growing seasons
last. Harvesting and replanting seeds from your backyard garden
vegetables increases your long-term survival probability.”

According to Cox, the company offers seeds that are scientifically dried
and stored in a way that keeps their germination rate high for years
longer than regular packaged garden seeds. This helps them store far
longer than seeds in packets or from some other emergency products
providers. Seed varieties are selected based on their diverse growing
capability in nearly any climate.

Kits include:

  • The Basic Survival Garden Seed Assortment ($52): 16 varieties of
seeds, including beans, carrots, corn, peas, lettuce and tomatoes. A
    deluxe version—for $120—includes 24 seed varieties.
  • The Fruit Garden Survival Seed Assortment ($34): Seeds for several
varieties of melons, pumpkins and strawberries.
  • The Herb Garden Survival Seed Vault ($43): 10 varieties, including
    basil, cilantro and oregano.
  • The Medicinal Garden Survival Seed Vault of Healing Herbs ($43): 10
different healing herbs, including Echinacea, cayenne and lemon balm.
