LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sigue Corporation will pay tribute to mothers by giving customers an
opportunity to win thousands of dollars in prizes leading up to the
busiest holiday for the money transfer industry—Mother’s Day. Customers
can begin to line up at their nearest Sigue agent before May 10, when
the holiday is commemorated in Mexico, and May 14, when the U.S. and the
rest of Latin America celebrates.

“The total number of remittances on the day prior to Mexico’s Mother’s
Day is triple our regular volume of transactions, and 2017 is poised to
be record-breaking,” said Guillermo “Bill” de la Viña, chairman and CEO
of Sigue. “Sigue has a presence in 140 countries around the world, most
of which celebrate Mother’s Day during the spring.”

The annual Mother’s Day surge in money transfers will fall on Friday,
May 5 and coincide with the first days of the month when Sigue customers
are already using their first paycheck to pay rent and utilities.

Through Sigue’s giveaway, “Una Casa Para Mamá,” customers who send a
wire transaction between April 1 and May 31, 2017 are eligible to win
one of the following prizes:

  • One (1) of hundreds of American Express gift cards, in the
    amount of $25, $50 or $100, for a grand total of $5,000
    in gifts.
  • One (1) GRAND PRIZE winner will receive $10,000, which they may
use as initial payment for the purchase of a house in the winner’s
    country of origin.

Mexican recording artist Ana Bárbara and Los Angeles Mexican-American
radio and television personality “Don Cheto” are the campaign’s
spokespeople. Sigue will sponsor or participate in over 500 events
throughout April and May to help promote wire transfers, including radio
remotes at retail agent locations, music festivals and grassroots local
community events for the Latino population across the United States.

In addition to radio and television spots and billboards, Sigue will
carry out a social media campaign featuring both Ana Bárbara and “Don
Cheto.”
