year. The survey was carried out by Delticom AG (FWB:DEX), Europe’s

and accessories in nine European countries. More than 1,200 motorcycle
fans answered three questions about their longest trip, their
destination and the frequency of their motorcycle rides in the summer.
There were prizes worth 1,500 Euro to win: vouchers for motorcycle

including a helmet holder.

A look at the trips in 2015 shows that bikers are never at a loss for
ideas, no goal is too far for them, and they don’t avoid exotic places.
All in all, the participants rode more than a million kilometres, which
gave an average of 800 kilometres per person during the main season. The
most popular destination in the biker summer 2015 was France (12%). The
favourites here were, for example, routes along the Côte d’Azur, through
the French Alps or the Pyrenees. France was closely followed by Germany
and Italy (11% each) as well as Spain (10%). Here, the “classic”
destinations such as the Black Forest or the Harz were on the programme,
just as the Dolomites, Lake Garda or Andalusia. Cross-country trips or
even trips across several countries were extremely popular, just as
visits to islands. A quarter (26%) of the bikers mentioned exotic
destinations such as Kenya, Tanzania, Malaysia or Australia. One
additional finding: it is also apparent that motorcycle fans do not miss
any opportunity to get on their machines. Almost half of those who took
part in the survey said they had been on the road on two wheels more
than 30 times in the summer.
