New Flight Tool Helps Football Fans Experience the Season in Stadium

Skyscanner Football Flight Finder Easily Sorts the Best Flight Deals

MIAMI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Skyscanner, the global travel
search engine, today announced the launch of its Football
Flight Finder
tool just in time for the start of the season. The
Skyscanner Football Flight Finder makes it easier than ever for fans to
identify flight deals to be able to watch their favorite teams in-person.

Fans like Tim Bollinger, a die-hard New York Giants fan and Miami
resident, who has had season tickets in his family since 1954. Rather
than give-up the chance to see his beloved Giants in-stadium, Bollinger
flies to the games every weekend. In the 2014-15 season he attended 11
games, spending roughly $2,500 on airfare. Bollinger is one example of
the modern-day committed fan, and teams across the nation have fans just
like him. The Minnesota Vikings confirmed that 47.5%
of their season ticket holders live out of the area and a ticket
reseller reported that 40%
of all pro football tickets sold were to out-of-region fans.

“Skyscanner is seeing a travel demand from devoted football fans to be
able to easily identify flight deals, and in response developed the
Skyscanner Football Flight Finder to meet the needs of this specific
traveler,” said Randi Wolfson, Head of Communications, Skyscanner. “This
tool combines the benefit of Skyscanner’s direct airlines and online
travel agent partnerships with it’s very popular planning tools, to
provide fans with a simple way to uncover flight deals, matching their
favorite team’s season schedule.”

The Skyscanner Football Flight Finder tool is available on
skyscanner.com/football. Football fans simply choose a home airport and
favorite team. The tool then filters the best flight options matching
the team’s full season game schedule. Alternatively, if the fan has a
preferred game, the tool can sort games by stadium, matching flight
deals accordingly. The Skyscanner Football Flight Finder suggests a few
flight options, varying by length of trips from one-day to up-to a
four-day trip.

Skyscanner’s very popular Price Alert feature is integrated into the
tool, offering a quick-click option for fans to set-up an alert that
provides notification on changes in ticket price. Fans can also easily
share flight itineraries found through the Skyscanner tool directly with
fellow fans via Facebook, Twitter and a link for email sharing.

“We anticipate the majority of the selected flights through the Football
Flight Finder tool to reflect a 3-day weekend vacation,” says Wolfson.
“With that prediction, our data shows that departing on a Saturday, or
returning on a Tuesday, offers the best prices in airline tickets, and
actually booking the flight on a Friday saves you money compared to
booking any other day of the week.”
