Newegg is Halloween Central for Costumes and DIY Haunted Houses

Company’s Support Brings ‘Tech and Terror’ to Treasured Haunted House in
Los Angeles Area

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Newegg,
the top tech-focused e-retailer in North America, today unveiled some
fantastic Halloween deals, with deep discounts on Halloween costumes,
party props and DIY haunted house components. The company also announced
its sponsorship of a family-run haunted house in the Los Angeles area.

In total, Newegg has more than 150,000 different costumes for all ages.
From Frozen’s Elsa to Game of Thrones and everything in
between, Newegg has affordable costumes to suit anyone. Newegg also
offers a diverse catalogue of Halloween accessories and decor for the
DIY haunted house enthusiast. Whether you’re just decorating the front
door or assembling an elaborate, multi-room haunted house, Newegg has
what you need.

“Many of our customers are makers at heart, and Halloween gives them the
opportunity to showcase their DIY skills by creating elaborate costumes
and haunted spaces to entertain friends and neighbors,” said James Wu,
COO of Newegg. “In that spirit, we are happy to lend our support to
Richard and Christina Lai who annually turn their home into one of the
best haunted houses in the greater Los Angeles area.”

Each year since 2008, Rowland Heights residents Richard and Christina
Lai have transformed their home into an elaborate haunted house. The
spectacle has drawn a great deal of media attention in Southern
California and especially in their local community. As former Newegg
employees, Richard and Christina naturally sourced many of the required
materials from Newegg.com. When Newegg learned of this, the company
decided to support their cause by donating products, and by soliciting
product donations from many of its vendor partners, including MSI
gaming laptops
, Annke
home surveillance systems
, Toynk
costumes & props
, Corsair
speakers
and LG
monitors
.

All told, the haunted house is one of the most technologically
sophisticated in the area, complete with a central command center from
which the entire haunted house is managed. Richard and Christina can
customize the level of intensity for each attendee, using a
sophisticated surveillance network to ensure all visitors are having an
enjoyable experience. This makes it possible to dial down the
fear-factor for children and the elderly, while maximizing the intensity
for thrill-seekers.

“Shortly after we moved to the area, one of our Halloween enthusiast
neighbors moved away and left a void in the neighborhood, so we took it
upon ourselves to build on their legacy with a haunted house of our
own,” said Richard Lai. “With the support of Newegg and their partners,
this year we are able to expand the scope of our haunted house far
beyond what we ever thought was possible.”

Construction on this year’s haunted house began in early September, with
friends, neighbors and now corporate sponsors lending a helping hand.
Newegg is tracking the build progress start-to-finish, providing regular
updates as well as all the Halloween essentials at http://promotions.newegg.com/marketplace/15-4496/lp/index.html.

This year’s haunted house will be open 7 p.m. – midnight Oct. 30 and 31,
and 7 – 9 p.m. on Nov. 1. Admission is free, however donations are
accepted. Visit http://www.rchaunted.com/home/
