Retro Fitness Named One of the Best Fitness Franchises by Forbes Magazine

National Low-Cost, High-Value Fitness Franchise Ranked as the Sixth
Best Franchise Investment for the Third Consecutive Year on Forbes’
Third Annual List of “Best and Worst Franchises to Buy”

COLTS NECK, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#fitnessfranchiseRetro
Fitness
has once again been recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of
the country’s best franchise investments with entry costs of $500,001
and up. The company ranked sixth in its third consecutive placement on
the publication’s “Best and Worst Franchises to Buy” list.

Each company was analyzed by franchise industry research firm FRANdata
and ranked by cost of initial investment (economy: up to $150,000;
coach: between $150,001 and $500,000; first-class: $500,001 and up),
five-year growth rates, five-year continuity rates and consistency of
ownership, among other factors. Franchisors were also judged based on
the level of support provided to franchisees, including financing,
marketing and operational support programs.

“It’s imperative that when a new franchisee joins the Retro Fitness
family they trust they’re going to see a substantial
return-on-investment. Our inclusion on this list for the third year in a
row confirms we’re getting that right,” said Eric Casaburi, founder and
CEO of Retro Fitness, which has a five-year growth rate of 18 percent.
“We’re able to sustain such rapid growth due to our forward-thinking
strategies that continuously bring more value to our franchisees and
members alike. With that, we could never achieve this success without
our ever-growing pool of fantastic franchisees that are willing to adapt
to new ideas and continue driving their businesses forward.”

Retro Fitness has more than 145 locations operating in 16 states and is
on track to have approximately 250 gyms in the next two years. Driving
the investor-friendly
franchise’s
growth are strong-unit economics and streamlined
business operations. By combining affordable membership options with a
first-class gym experience and state of the art equipment associated
with big-box clubs, the gyms attract inexperienced and seasoned
exercisers of all ages. Meanwhile, ancillary offerings such as the Retro
Blends Smoothie Bar, personal training, child care, group fitness, pro
shop and tanning create additional revenue centers that maximize bottom
line returns for franchise owners. Further, with the flexibility to open
in 15,000 to 18,000 square-foot spaces, the gyms are designed to scale
back on square footage without cutting back on services and staff. This
results in lower costs for both owners and members, while still offering
high-quality equipment and amenities.

The company’s ability to constantly evolve and embrace change is another
key factor to its success. Recently, Retro Fitness announced a new,
results-driven fitness program called the New Exercise Order (NEO)
powered by Retro Results, which will launch network-wide in 2017. This
multi-level personal training program provides a solution to members of
all fitness levels and desired price points by offering three training
tiers and incorporating technology that gamifies the workout experience.
This program is expected to be a game changer for the brand, as it
offers members a far more effective and affordable fitness regimen than
boutique fitness studios.
