Virtual Reality Coaster Offers Fully Immersive Experiences

ARLINGTON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced the
opening of The New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster, North America’s
first fully-integrated Virtual Reality (VR) roller coaster featuring
ground-breaking technology using Samsung Gear VR, powered by Oculus.

In partnership with Samsung, Six Flags Over Texas is offering
unprecedented thrills by combining the traditional roller coaster
experience with a fully immersive virtual world. From the moment riders
board, wearing Samsung Gear VR headsets, they become co-pilots of a
fighter jet, flying through a futuristic city while engaging in a battle
to protect the planet against alien invaders. State-of-the-art
technology syncs the high-definition imagery and storytelling perfectly
with the unique track configuration allowing guests to experience
sensations like a real fighter pilot while blasting through two inside
loops across nearly 3,400 feet of steel track.

Samsung Gear VR – designed to accelerate virtual reality into the
mainstream – provides an untethered, fully-immersive experience with
360-degree content for an extremely high quality mobile VR experience.
Built to work with Samsung’s Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, S6
edge, S6 edge+ and Note5, the Gear VR headset utilizes each device’s
super AMOLED display to provide the color, clarity and performance
needed for an amazing virtual reality experience.

The New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster will debut to the general
public on Saturday, March 26. Season Pass Holders get an exclusive
preview of the ride while it’s open for technical rehearsals throughout
the run of the park’s spring break, ending March 20. For more
