Strayer University Partners With Ivy Tech Community College to Offer Students a More Affordable Four-Year Degree

Partnership part of StrayerComplete initiative, which offers
innovative pathways and increases access to and affordability of college
degrees for adult students

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Strayer University, a leading postsecondary higher education institution
for working adults, today announced a new partnership with Ivy Tech
Community College, the statewide community college system of Indiana and
the largest community college system in the U.S., to allow Ivy Tech
students pursuing an associate degree to earn a bachelor’s degree from
Strayer University. All eligible credits received for completed Ivy Tech
coursework will seamlessly transfer to Strayer University and will count
toward a bachelor’s degree. In addition Strayer University will offer
Ivy Tech students a tuition rate for coursework at Strayer that matches
the out-of-state online costs they enjoyed at Ivy Tech.

The Ivy Tech partnership, which adds to Strayer’s relationships with
more than 200 community colleges across the country, falls under Strayer
University’s ‘StrayerComplete’ initiative, creating innovative and
alternative solutions for community college students to complete a
four-year degree. StrayerComplete is one of a series of Strayer programs
aimed at increasing access to a four-year college degree for all adult
students and that is quickly leading to Strayer’s position as a leader
in college affordability.

“The rising cost of college has long been a major barrier for adults
wanting to pursue higher education,” said Brian W. Jones, president of
Strayer University. “From our well-received Graduation Fund to our most
recent Degrees@Work offering, Strayer University is committed to
identifying affordable, flexible and innovative solutions that expand
access and prepare students for the practical demands of the
marketplace. Our unique relationship with Ivy Tech was conceived with
this mission in mind, and we are thrilled to have them as a partner in
our access and affordability efforts.”

Ivy Tech enrolls approximately 175,000 students annually at its 32
campus locations. “We are excited to provide our graduating students
with this attractive option for completing their bachelor’s degree.
Strayer University has a longstanding history of offering rigorous and
relevant academic programs,” said Thomas J. Snyder, president of Ivy
Tech.

Interested students – those who are pursuing or have already completed
their associate degree at Ivy Tech – can begin the credit transfer
process by contacting Strayer University. The program offers eligible
students access to Strayer University’s extensive online programs in
nursing, business, accounting, and information systems and technology,
among others. For more information, visit: http://ivytech.strayer.edu.
