The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K Celebrates Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day With Launch of Registration

The First 8,000 Runners to Register Will Receive a Discounted Entry

CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Registration for the 2016 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K opens
today at 1 p.m. Central Time. The classic road race is an annual
tradition for runners looking to continue the essence of the St.
Patrick’s Day celebration with a fun run through the heart of Chicago.
The 2016 race will be held on Sunday, April 3, and will welcome
thousands runners on a one-of-a-kind course that weaves its way through
Chicago’s Loop, starting and finishing in Grant Park. The first 8,000
runners to sign up for the race will receive a $40 discounted entry.
Once the 8,000-runner limit is reached the registration fee will
increase to $50. Runners can register online at shamrockshuffle.com.

In its 37th year, the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K
continues to be a popular race for area runners. What started as a small
local event is now one of Chicago’s favorite running celebrations. Its
popularity and size is a tribute to the enthusiasm and spirit of the
city’s running community, with more than 90 percent of Shamrock Shuffle
participants hailing from Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

“The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K is truly a unique Chicago

lace up their running shoes and stay healthy and active following the

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K welcomes participants of all
ability levels who are beginning their annual running and fitness
regimen, from runners participating in their first road race to those
targeting the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in the fall. The Shamrock
Shuffle also hosts the popular Deloitte Team Competition at both the
elite and non-elite levels. The end result is a fun-filled race
experience that celebrates running and fitness in Chicago.

annual rite of spring, a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and the
kickoff to the outdoor running season in Chicago, the 37th
annual Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K takes runners on a scenic
tour of downtown Chicago, starting and finishing in Grant Park. The race
will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 3, and will conclude with live
music at the traditional Post-Race Party in Grant Park. In advance of
the event, the two-day Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K Health &
Fitness Expo will take place at McCormick Place on Friday, April 1, and
Saturday, April 2, featuring more than 80 industry-related exhibitors.
