Thompson Hine Adds Corporate Partner Pingshan Li

Li Joins as Second Corporate Lateral in Cleveland in 2016

CLEVELAND–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Thompson
Hine LLP
is pleased to announce that Pingshan Li has joined the
firm’s Corporate Transactions & Securities practice as a partner in
Cleveland. Li comes from Ulmer & Berne LLP, where he was the head of
that firm’s China practice.

Li is the second lateral partner to join the Cleveland office’s
Corporate practice in 2016, following the addition of David D. Watson
earlier this year. With Li’s addition, Thompson Hine continues the
firmwide growth of its Corporate Practice Group, now at 85 lawyers.

Li represents Asian companies in direct investment and expansion-related
matters in North America, as well as U.S. companies doing business in
Asia. Li’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures,
corporate finance, corporate governance, public company compliance,
international business transactions and managing cross-border commercial
litigation. He also represents clients in technology transactions and
intellectual property rights protections. Li has substantial corporate
and legal experience in China. He currently acts as outside general
counsel for several large multinational companies and he also serves as
corporate secretary for several clients’ boards of directors.

Li previously worked as a claim manager at China Shipowners Mutual
Assurance Association located in Beijing, where he represented
shipowners and P&I clubs in maritime matters in both Chinese and U.S.
international ports. Li is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and was
born and raised in the Liaoning province of China.

Li received a J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of
Law in 2008, an LL.M. from University College London in 2000, and a B.S.
and LL.M. from Dalian Maritime University, located in the Liaoning
province of China, in 1998.
