thredUP Expands Operations With Third Distribution Center

The world’s largest online marketplace to buy and sell like-new
women’s and kids’ clothing leases 145,000 square foot space, bringing
300 jobs to the Chicagoland area and improving customer experience

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–thredUP.com,
the leading online marketplace to buy and sell like-new women’s and
kids’ clothing, announced today the opening of its third distribution
center in Vernon Hills, Illinois. The company has leased 145,000 square
feet in the Chicagoland suburb, which is located at 100 Lakeview
Parkway, Vernon Hills, Illinois.

The Vernon Hills distribution center will serve as a model for thredUP’s
continued operational expansion over the next few years. The new
facility is expected to employ 300 team members over the next year.
Currently, Vernon Hills employs 145 full-time staff, with a goal of 10
to 15 new hires per week. thredUP’s other distribution centers are
located in San Leandro, California and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

By opening new distribution centers in different parts of the country,
thredUP is able to offer faster shipping transit times and increase the
amount of localized, seasonally relevant inventory available to its
customers.
