Two Local Fundraisers Raise More Than $2 Million to Help Families Pay for Children’s Medical Expenses

MINNETONKA, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) held two fundraisers
this week that raised $2.2 million to help families pay for child
medical expenses.

On Sunday, UHCCF’s fifth-annual MN Century Ride kicked off at 7 a.m.
when 97 riders began a 100-mile ride through the western suburbs of Eden
Prairie, Minnetonka and Delano.

Following the ride, golfers from Minnesota and around the country
gathered Monday at the UHCCF Hazeltine Golf Classic fundraiser in Chaska
to enjoy a day of golf, and live and silent auctions.

UHCCF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides medical
grants to help children gain access to health-related services not
covered, or not fully covered, by their parents’ commercial health
insurance plan. Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child
($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and do not need to have insurance
through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible. Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded
more than 11,000 grants valued at over $33 million to children and their
families across the United States.

Parents or legal guardians may apply for grants at www.UHCCF.org.
