Walmart Reveals Force Friday II Plans Including Exclusive Be Jedi Ready Events All Weekend in Select Cities Nationwide

BENTONVILLE, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Walmart is your only hope to #BeJediReady for the release of December’s
highly anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi © & TM Lucasfilm Ltd.
In addition to new and exclusive Star Wars merchandise available at
12:01 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, Walmart will be the only retailer in the
galaxy hosting #BeJediReady events in Walmart stores in select cities
from Friday through Sunday (Sept. 1 to Sept. 3) during Force Friday II
weekend.

“Star Wars fans are counting down to Force Friday II,” said Anne Marie
Kehoe, vice president of toys at Walmart. “The Force will be strong at
Walmart with an out of this world assortment of new merchandise
available in stores and online at Walmart.com. And Force Friday II is
just the beginning; fans can count on new and exciting merchandise to be
revealed at Walmart in the lead up to the theatrical release of Star
Wars: The Last Jedi © & TM Lucasfilm Ltd.

The family-friendly #BeJediReady events will include both parking lot
and in-store events and will take place in 10 cities—Boston, Chicago,
Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Northwest Arkansas, Orlando, San Antonio,
San Jose, and Seattle. They will feature:

  • Jedi training games with lightsabers where customers choose between
    the light side or dark side of the Force
  • Photo opportunity for customers to capture their light side or dark
    side
  • Tent with Star Wars themed games and activities for children
  • In-store toy demos with new exclusive product
  • Get your photo taken with Star Wars characters in select stores
  • Free EA Star Wars: Battlefront II video game posters while supplies
    last
  • Topps Galactic Connexions Trading Discs giveaways

Fans are also invited to aid the Resistance by taking part in an AR
treasure hunt for data chips holding information about key personnel.
More than 4,000 Walmart stores will have exclusive Star Wars standees
from Sept. 1 to Sept. 3 that will allow customers to unlock an exclusive
life-size AR character using the Star Wars app on their phones, with new
characters available each day. Fans can share pictures and videos
featuring the characters on social media with the hashtag #FindTheForce.
