Westside Academy II Students to Talk about Why They Love Their School
Students will share pride in their school through words, visuals
MILWAUKEE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Students at Westside Academy II will celebrate National School Choice
Week 2017 by vocalizing what they love so much about their school.
The students will print out signs that say “I Love My School” and take
pictures with them, then display the photos. The signs and photos will
go up on Monday, January 23, 2017.
Westside Academy II is a public school in the Milwaukee School District,
serving 535 students in grades K-5.
The goal of the event is to celebrate great education choices in
Wisconsin and raise awareness among parents about school choice. The
celebration is timed to take place right before National School Choice
Week (January 22-28, 2017), which will feature more than 21,000 events
across the country.
Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public
awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective
education options for every child. Through more than 21,000
independently planned events across the country, National School Choice
Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices
available to children. These options include traditional public schools,
public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private
