100% Of Proceeds Benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–From now through September 30, Water and Power Community Credit Union
(WPCCU) is raising funds with the support of our members for Children’s
Hospital Los Angeles, our local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
WPCCU’s theme during a month-long Miracle Jeans campaign is “Donate a
dollar. Deliver a miracle.” Every dollar raised helps pay for
life-saving procedures and equipment such as a child’s heart valve at an
average of $65,000, a neonatal intensive care unit bed that averages
$41,000 or a brainstem MRI that costs $16,000.
Miracle Jeans Day took place on September 9 and WPCCU employees made
their own donations for the privilege of wearing jeans on Miracle
Mondays. Within the first few weeks of September, WPCCU raised more than
$2,500. Combined with the dollar-for-dollar match by the CO-OP® Miracle
Match program – a total of $5,000 was raised. We have already met our
September goal of $3,000 and the funds continue to roll in! Plus, each
of our five branches and credit union department service centers has
pledged to meet their own individual goals.
WPCCU supported the Miracle Jeans fundraising efforts by donating $5 per
employee towards a Miracle Jeans campaign button for every employee to
wear. Our commitment to future fundraising will also help to fulfill the
Credit Union for Kid’s six-year plan for their Helping Hands $5 million
fund. “Each year we stand behind our members and employees’ fundraising
efforts for the Children’s Miracle Network to show that we embrace this
cause for the children and their families,” said Celeste Zibelli, Vice
President of marketing and financial services. “The WPCCU fundraising
efforts will help to make miracles.”

Credit Unions for Kids is a collaboration of credit unions, leagues,
chapters and business partners formed to raise money to benefit their
regional children’s hospital, one of 170 hospitals affiliated with
