zpizza Kicks Off Nice zSlice Program to Aid Bullying Prevention in Schools

Artisan-Inspired Pizza Chain Celebrates National Bullying Prevention
Month by Partnering with Local Schools to Recognize Kids Doing Kind Acts

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month this October, zpizza,
the first artisan-inspired pizza chain, will team up with more than 200
elementary schools nationwide for the Nice zSlice, a program that
rewards students for kindness toward others.

Throughout the month, teachers will recognize kindness in the classroom
by presenting deserving students with Nice zSlice certificates
redeemable for a free slice of pizza at participating zpizza restaurants.

“Being kind and courteous to others defines our company culture, and
through our regional restaurant footprint, we have the opportunity to
inspire positive change in our schools and communities, “said Chris
Bright, CEO zpizza. “The response to the Nice zSlice last year shows
that there’s no shortage of young people that desire to make good
choices in the way they treat others.”

The company launched the program last year and distributed nearly
100,000 Nice zSlice awards to schools across the country. In addition to
Nice zSlice awards, zpizza provides schools with posters encouraging
positive behavior, parent communication letters and tips on how to
address bullying and reward students in the classroom.

“The Nice zSlice gave us a great opportunity to recognize students for
being upstanders. Last year, we had a zpizza party for more than 40 kids
who earned the Nice zSlice award and the kids loved it,” said Judy
Montgomery, principal of Matsuyama Elementary School in Sacramento,
California. “We’re excited to kick off the program again this year and
reinforce that every single day we have an opportunity to make our
school a better place through kindness.”

According to DoSomething.org, more than 3.2 million students are victims
of bullying each year, and nearly 1 in 10 drop out due to repeated
bullying. The Nice zSlice program is designed to help reduce these
numbers by rewarding kids for positive acts of kindness.

The Nice zSlice campaign will run through October, giving all students
at participating schools the chance to be rewarded for their kind
behavior. For more information on how to register your school, visit www.zpizza.com/community.
