State Street Earns Top Marks in 2016 Corporate Equality Index

Company Receives Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s
Fourteenth Annual Scorecard on LGBT Workplace Equality

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) announced today that it received a
perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI),
a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and
practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human
Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC). State Street joins the ranks of 517
major US businesses have also earned top marks this year.

The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses in the report, which evaluates
LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination
workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive
health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with
the LGBT community. State Street’s efforts in satisfying all of the
CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a
Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.

State Street has received a number of awards for its dedication to
workplace inclusion. Most recently, two of the company’s executives,
Chief Marketing Officer Hannah Grove and Steven Chan, managing director
and regional head of regulatory, industry and government affairs, Asia
Pacific, were named to OUTstanding’s LGBT Leading Ally Executives list
and the Leading LGBT+ Executives List, respectively, in recognition of
their support and leadership in the LGBT community at State Street.

Last month State Street was also named a “Top 10” leader among the 2016
International Innovation Award winners by the Profiles in Diversity
Journal
. The award is given to companies demonstrating an alignment
of diversity and inclusion with business goals in the workplace and
marketplace.
