Aer Lingus Business Class Launches National Inspirational Role Models Month Video Contest to Recognize Outstanding Individuals

Throughout November Enter Your Role Model Who Has Chance to Win a
Vacation to Ireland

JERICHO, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As part of National Inspirational Role Models Month (November), Aer
Lingus
, the national airline of Ireland, invites the general public
to participate in a first-of-its-kind video contest, conducted by Aer
Lingus’ Business Class. Between November 3 and November 30, 2015, any
individual in the United States, of at least 18 years of age, can
nominate his/her role model for the opportunity for the role model and
his/her guest to win a free Aer Lingus Business Class flight from any
Aer Lingus U.S. transatlantic gateway to Dublin, Ireland, and a
six-night stay in Ireland. Through the Aer
Lingus Vacation Store
, the trip will include one night at
Fitzpatrick’s Castle Hotel, Dublin; one night at Lough Eske Castle,
Donegal; two nights at Druids Glen, Wicklow; two nights at a bed &
breakfast; a full Irish breakfast daily; and a car rental with unlimited
mileage.

As part of the contest, participants explain why they believe their
nominee is a true role model who deserves the vacation award. To enter,
contestants are asked to create a short video which will first be judged
by a select Aer Lingus Business Class team. Videos can be taken using a
smart phone or video camera and then uploaded via the National
Inspirational Role Models Contest website http://rolemodelcontest.aerlingus.com.
Participants are asked to include a verbal mention of “Smart Flies Aer
Lingus Business Class” in the video testimonial.

“We see exemplary individuals flying Aer Lingus every day and we wanted
to find a way to recognize those who epitomize the true definition of a
role model,” said Helen Maguire, Director of Consumer Sales, Aer Lingus.
“Video testimonials describing noble individuals in our society seemed
like the perfect fit. Almost every one of us has identified a role model
in our lives, whether it be a police officer, firefighter, educator,
family member or someone else. We look forward to receiving the
testimonials and finding out about the outstanding person in their
lives.”

Video submissions will be accepted beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2015
until Monday, November 30, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. (EST), after which Aer
Lingus will select three semi-finalist videos, based on the following
criteria: role model’s level of sacrifice, role model’s level of help,
and video originality and creativity.

Aer Lingus Business Class will then hold a “Role Model Facebook Vote”
between January 7, 2016 and January 31, 2016, in which the semi-finalist
videos will appear, along with the hashtag #aerlingusrolemodelcontest.
Facebook users will be able to vote for their favorite video by
selecting A, B or C via the Facebook “Comment” function. At the end of
the voting period, one winner will be selected based on a combination of
the Facebook tallies and final recommendations by Aer Lingus. The
winning video will appear on the airline’s website and social media
channels.
