Diet Coke Celebrates What Makes Us All One of a Kind with Millions of Unique, Colourful Package Designs

“One of a Kind” program brings Canadians Diet Coke in vibrant
packaging inspired by its bubbles, taste, fizz and spirit

TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Canadians love the great taste of Diet Coke, and now they have another
reason to swoon over the no-calorie beverage. For the first time ever in
Canada, Diet Coke will be available in millions of unique, colourful
package designs with the launch of the “One of a Kind” program. The
innovative packages are available in stores now while supplies last.


The “One of a Kind” bottles will feature millions of unique, vibrant
designs on 500mL PET and 355mL and 237mL glass bottles of Diet Coke. No
two are exactly the same – just like the fans who enjoy Diet Coke. A
select number of patterns will also be available on 355mL and 222mL cans.

“The ‘One of a Kind’ campaign showcases the great taste of Diet Coke
that Canadians know and love in a completely new way,” says Michael
Samoszewski, Vice President, Sparkling Business Unit, Coca-Cola Ltd.
“With millions of designs to choose from, Canadians will have fun
finding that one Diet Coke bottle that truly reflects what makes them
unique and ‘One of a Kind’.”

To create the unique packaging, Diet Coke worked with HP Inc. to
leverage their innovative HP Indigo digital printing technology. First,
Diet Coke created 36 ‘base’ designs inspired by the bubbles, fizz, taste
and spirit of Diet Coke. Then, through HP SmartStream Mosaic software,
the base designs were used to automatically create millions of entirely
new graphics.

To kick off the program, Diet Coke is partnering with celebrity stylist,
E! “Fashion Police” host and Diet Coke fan, Brad Goreski. Goreski will
share with fans his must-have fashion pieces for the fall season and
show them how to add a splash of colour to make any outfit unique.

“Like fashion, the new ‘One of a Kind’ Diet Coke bottles are a distinct
reflection of personal style,” says Goreski. “With millions of unique
designs, fans will have the perfect accessory for their ‘One of a Kind’
look.”

Canadians can purchase their very own Diet Coke “One of a Kind” bottle,
while supplies last, at major retailers across the country.

The Diet Coke “One of a Kind” campaign will be supported by a
fully-integrated marketing program including a 30-second television
spot, and 30- and 15-second digital and social ads. Select digital ads
will feature brand spokesperson, Genie Bouchard. In the spot Bouchard
battles against a tennis ball machine to create her very own Diet Coke
“One of a Kind” bottle design. Just 200 of the limited edition bottles
will be produced and will be part of an upcoming social media campaign.
