New At-Home Fertility Treatment Option Poised to Aid Millions of
Americans Struggling to Get Pregnant

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Given a new
study
that found one in eight women, and one in ten men, experience
infertility issues – with about half of them not getting or seeking
medical assistance for it – there is now a new at-home, cost-effective
infertility treatment option available in the United States, The
Conception Kit®
, that can help.

Published in Oxford Journals in June 2016, the UK study of more
than 15,000 individuals found that 43 percent of women and 47 percent of
men did not talk to a medical professional about their infertility
problem.

“The results of this study are, sadly, not surprising,” Michael La Vean,
President and Founder of Conceivex, maker of The Conception Kit®, said.
“While the research in this case did not indicate correlation or
causation, we know from our own extensive work in infertility that
countless couples do not seek help for a number of reasons. For the more
than 20 million women in the U.S. who are affected by infertility today,
the lack of privacy that accompanies historic treatment choices, the
cost of those options, the possibility for multiple births and, in some
cases, religious restrictions, are significant barriers.”

Today, The Conception Kit®, an FDA-cleared, drug- and hormone-free
infertility treatment that couples can use in the privacy of their own
home, is available nationally for a $30-$75 co-pay with a prescription
at more than 65,000 pharmacies in the U.S., including Walmart, Target,
Rite Aid, Walgreens and others. About 60 percent of insured individuals
in the U.S. already have reimbursable access through their pharma
benefits managers (Express Scripts, CVS/Caremark, and others).

Cost

Many of the historic infertility treatment options can prove costly. For
example, a single cycle of in vitro fertilization (IVF) costs $12,500 on
average, according to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine,
and is not always covered by insurance. The Conception Kit® includes 24
ovulation predictors for timing the Luteinizing Hormone Surge (LHSurge),
among a range of other items. Purchasing just these items alone
over-the-counter would cost more than the entire Conception Kit® (with
the co-pay).

Privacy

Patients use The Conception Kit® at home. One of its key features is The
Conception Cap®, a highly engineered and manufactured cap that assists
conception in a protected environment, and enables the woman to go about
her routine without being uncomfortably restricted to a doctor’s office
for hours on end.

Multiple Births

While advancements have been made in IVF treatment, patients who elect
this route to address infertility still face risks, including multiple
births as well as premature births that can land newborns in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Patients who can successfully
conceive using The Conception Kit® have a likelihood of having a single,
healthy birth at full-term based on successful user accounts to date.

Religious Considerations

The Conception Kit® has also received approval from numerous religious
groups and their leadership. The National Catholic Bioethics Center and
Catholic Bishops; Focus on the Family; and A.T.I.M.E, the international
Jewish organization, have all determined that The Conception Kit®
approach fits within their teachings as a first step toward conception.

“The Conception Kit addresses a number of the reasons we believe people
who face infertility issues don’t get medical help,” La Vean added. “I
encourage people who may be struggling to conceive to look into all
possible options and discuss the best route to fulfill your family goals
with your doctor.”
