Tim Tebow to Keynote Free Wheelchair Mission 13th Annual Gala

Event to launch goal of placing millionth wheelchair

IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#FWMmobility–Special guest speaker Tim Tebow will present the keynote speech at the
Free Wheelchair Mission’s 13th annual Miracle of Mobility gala at Costa
Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts on July 28. Tebow will share how
Free Wheelchair Mission, a nonprofit organization that provides
wheelchairs at no cost to people with disabilities in developing
nations, is helping him “bring faith, hope, and love to those needing a
brighter day in their darkest hour of need.”

Although known for his accomplishments on the football field, Tebow, who
won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and was then drafted by the Denver
Broncos, is also known for his charitable work. Free Wheelchair Mission
is providing wheelchairs to the Tebow Cure Hospital in the Philippines.

The gala marks the launch of the humanitarian organization’s “Mission to
a Million,” as it sets its sights on placing its millionth wheelchair.
Since its founding in 2001, the group has already donated more than
937,000 wheelchairs worldwide.

The Miracle of Mobility program will feature a dinner reception and
silent auction in the lobby of the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert
Hall. The event will close with a live auction with a goal of funding
25,000 wheelchairs. Founder Don Schoendorfer will discuss the
significance of the “millionth wheelchair” and what it means for the
organization’s future.

“It’s remarkable to think about the relatively small group people that
were able to get almost a million wheelchairs distributed,” says
Schoendorfer. “The millionth wheelchair will bring increased attention
to Free Wheelchair Mission and the needs of the disabled in developing
countries. One million is an attention-grabbing number, and I am excited
about the doors this will open to draw more attention to our mission.”

Sponsors of the event include Advisors Mortgage Group, LLC, the Lin
family, NuWest Insurance Services, the Hanson Family Foundation, Load
Depot, Raymond and Montel Pentz, Brookfield Residential, Ann Holland,
the Hummelberg family, the Morris Family Foundation, PAAMCO, The Pocket
Testament League, and Roger’s Gardens.
