TXU Energy Unveils On-Site Clinic, Providing Primary and Preventive Care to Employees and Their Dependents

TXU Energy has unveiled the new MyHealth Clinic at the company’s Customer Operations Facility in Irving, providing employees and their dependents with on-site access to primary and preventive care, as well as therapy for chronic pain and soft tissue injuries.

“Our goal in developing this clinic was to make care more convenient and affordable for our people and their families,” said Jim Burke, Chairman and CEO of TXU Energy. “We want to provide opportunities beyond treating patients when they are sick, which is why we have a variety of preventive care measures to reduce long-term health risks and help our employees live longer, healthier lives.”

The clinic will serve more than 3,000 North Texans, providing everything from primary care of acute illnesses to preventive care, such as annual physicals, health screenings and immunizations. The clinic also provides therapy to treat chronic pain and soft tissue injuries through a partnership with Airrosti Rehab Centers. Patients are seen by appointment, with 12-15 appointments available each day. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are for primary and preventive care, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are reserved for physical therapy and pain management.

TXU Energy is part of a trend among companies in providing on-site care to employees. According to Mercer’s 2012 National Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Plans, approximately 30 percent of employers with more than 300 employees said they offer on-site health care services.
