STOCKHOLM–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Neonode® Inc. (NASDAQ: NEON), creators of the AirBar™
sensor, the streamlined device that instantly gives PCs touchscreen
capabilities, today announces the official U.S. launch and shipment of
AirBar pre-sale orders. Compatible with most Chromebook™ notebooks and
PCs running Windows® 8.1 or 10, AirBar provides consumers
with the option to promptly and seamlessly activate touch
functionalities on their laptops.
The AirBar device is a sleek, thin matte black bar that magnetically
attaches to the bottom of a laptop display for easy installation. AirBar
instantly connects through a USB port and requires no software
installation or additional configuration. AirBar uses parent company
Neonode’s patented zForce AIR™ technology to emit an invisible light
field over a laptop screen that senses touch from fingers, gloves and
even a paintbrush. This gives users the ability to flip through a
digital cookbook without removing their oven mitt or teach their kids
how to draw and paint without the messy art supplies, for example.
“We developed this product knowing there is really nothing else like it
on the market,” said Remo Behdasht, senior vice president of AirBar
Devices at Neonode. “People want touchscreen capabilities, but until now
their options were very limited by brand and cost. Our successful
pre-order phase was further confirmation of the massive appeal and
demand for this device.”
AirBar alleviates battery drain, added weight and glare that typically
comes with touchscreen laptops. AirBar retails for $69 and is offered in
three size options to fit 13.3”, 14” and 15.6” screens.
AirBar is a brand of Neonode Inc., a technology company that develops
