Improved quality scores reported across Medicare Advantage health plans

CERRITOS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#Medicare–CareMore Medicare Advantage health plans earned high Medicare Star
Quality scores for 2017, with each of its plans earning four Stars or
more, according to data released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services (CMS). Last year, 70% of its patients were in greater than
four-star plans, compared with 100% this year.

“I am extremely proud of this significant growth in Star Quality Ratings
in our plans,” said Sachin H. Jain, President, of CareMore Health
System. “We work tirelessly to meet and exceed the medical, social and
personal health needs of our patients; and, this recognition represents
the commitment that the entire CareMore team has to providing patients
with stellar care and service, and putting them at the center of all we
do.”

The organization is reporting an increase in quality ratings in all four
of its Medicare Advantage plans: California (increase from 4 Stars to
4.5 Stars); Arizona (increase from 3.5 Stars to 4 Stars); Nevada
(increase from 3.5 Stars to 4 Stars); and Virginia (consistent at 4.5
Stars).

CareMore is committed to continual improvements and enhancements to its
model to provide better care, access to care and service to its
patients. For example, recently the company announced a partnership with
Lyft to create a better transportation experience for patients and
improve access to care.

The annual CMS Star Rating measures how well Medicare Advantage and
prescription drug (Part D) plans perform in areas of quality of care,
access to care, responsiveness and satisfaction of service. Medicare
health plans are reviewed and rated on a scale of one to five Stars. A
rating of five Stars represents the highest quality and excellent
performance.
