DQ® system introduces new Royal Blizzard Treat
fit for royalty, featuring a topping-filled center, a first for a
national QSR brand
MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–North America’s queen – the Dairy Queen® brand
– today introduced Royal Blizzard Treats, a new line of
premium Blizzard Treats with a topping-filled center. To promote
the new Royal Blizzard Treats, the Dairy Queen system
invites Queen Elizabeth II to sample the treat on her milestone
birthday. And, in honor of the new royal line, the iconic red spoon will
become gold to celebrate the premium treat.
The first Blizzard Treat ever to be deemed royal, this latest
creation is not just a new flavor; it’s a new DQ Blizzard
Treat experience for Dairy Queen fans. Beginning with a classic
OREO Blizzard Treat and adding a decadent center of fudge, the
Royal Blizzard Treat perfectly combines flavor and texture for a
new take on dessert. Other new Royal Blizzard Treat flavors
include the Royal New York Cheesecake, filled with a strawberry center,
and the Royal Rocky Road Brownie with peanuts and brownie pieces, filled
with a marshmallow center.
“This is innovation 30 years in the making. To our legions of world-wide Blizzard
Treat Fans, we feel we owe them innovative ideas that are worthy of the Blizzard
name,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for
American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “We are so confident in the
Royal Blizzard line that we’re crossing the pond to invite the
Queen to try our newest Blizzard Treat. Who better than Queen
Elizabeth II to be one of the first to try a royal treat on her
milestone birthday? From one queen to another, we’re doing our part to
make her 90th birthday her sweetest yet.”
The Dairy Queen system is offering to deliver a Royal Blizzard
Treat to Queen Elizabeth II as a grand and delicious gift commemorating
her 90th birthday. Should she accept, the DQ brand is ready
