Harris Corporation to Promote STEM Education and Showcase Innovative Technologies at Florida’s Capitol

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Florida-based Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today will showcase its
commitment to strengthening education in the state and its innovative
Florida technologies during STEM Day at the Capitol, an event to educate
lawmakers and students on the importance of science, technology,
engineering and mathematics education. Harris’ participation is part of
its companywide celebration of National Engineers Week, which began
Monday.

At STEM Day at the Capitol, being held today at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.,
Harris scientists and engineers will conduct interactive exhibits to
enable attendees to experience technical careers first hand. Attendees
will be able to design circuit boards for public safety radios, code
robotic software programs and test submersible electronics.

Many of the technologies on display were created by Harris’ 6,000
Florida-based employees or are used by Florida government and commercial

Harris representatives also will be on hand to discuss various
engineering disciplines involved in creating today’s most innovative
solutions, technical careers, and the importance of STEM education for
the future of Florida and the country.
