Seed Company Appoints Shawn Ring as New CIO

ARLINGTON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Shawn Ring has been appointed Seed Company’s chief information officer,
announced President & CEO Samuel E. Chiang. Ring has more than 20 years’
leadership experience in ministry, technology and business.

Ring will lead the Information Management team and will be responsible
for establishing Seed Company’s technical vision. That includes leading
the global strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external
relationships.

experience in technology and ministry to us,” Chiang said. “He will play
a key role as Seed Company and the entire Bible translation movement
pray and strategize toward reaching all people with God’s Word.”

Most recently, Ring served as executive pastor for Gateway Church in
Dallas. He led teams that created, launched and maintained
technology-based ministries that connect both the local church and the
global church with opportunities for community, engagement and spiritual
formation. Among those ministries is Table (table.org), a mobile
framework offered to congregations worldwide.

Prior to joining Gateway, Ring was president and CTO of Assemble
Communications. The global group of communications companies partnered
with indigenous Christians to help people in disaster zones and
majority-world countries improve education and communication.

In 1996, Ring co-founded Integrity Online, which grew to become
America’s largest filtered Internet service provider. Integrity filters
graphic violence and pornography from the Web. Churches became the
primary customers, even as the business focused on households.

More than half of Ring’s career has involved serving the global church
through initiatives such as Lausanne, Global Day of Prayer, Global
Inquiry and Transform World. He has started, counseled and overseen
businesses and ministries in a dozen countries.
